Vidlune requests the best compatible public source that Instagram exposes. It does not upscale a lower-resolution upload, invent a missing audio track or remove a watermark already embedded by the creator. A successful request returns a normal MP4 attachment to your browser.
No app to install
Use an InstaDownloader in the browser
An Instagram video download app is unnecessary for this workflow. Vidlune runs in a modern browser and never asks for your Instagram username, password, session cookie or profile access. If you searched “download video IG,” the safe starting point is still the same: use the complete URL of a post that plays while you are logged out.
On a phone, the finished MP4 goes through the browser’s normal download controls. The separate iPhone and Android guide explains where Safari and Chrome usually place it without repeating the downloader instructions here.
Honest boundaries
Links that cannot be downloaded
Private, deleted, login-gated and region-restricted media cannot be made public by this tool. Stories, Highlights, photos, image-only carousels, profile pages and Explore pages are also outside its current scope. Use a direct public instagram.com/reel/…, /p/… or /tv/… video URL.
Each job can run for up to 120 seconds and the completed file must remain under 200 MB. Instagram may temporarily rate-limit a public link; retrying later is safer than giving credentials to a third-party downloader. Only save media you own, have permission to download or are otherwise legally allowed to use.
