Links that cannot be downloaded
Private, deleted, login-gated and region-restricted media cannot be made public by this tool. Stories, Highlights, photos, image-only carousels, profile pages and Explore pages are also outside its current scope. Use a direct public instagram.com/reel/…, /p/… or /tv/… video URL.
Each job can run for up to 120 seconds and the completed file must remain under 200 MB. Instagram may temporarily rate-limit a public link; retrying later is safer than giving credentials to a third-party downloader. Only save media you own, have permission to download or are otherwise legally allowed to use.
Why a good link fails
The same link can fail, then work unchanged
A failed download reads like a broken link. It usually isn’t one. Seriously, this catches people out. In one long complaint, a person reported that the same Reel link failed repeatedly, then went through with nothing about the link changed. A fix was shipped. It broke again the next day. The person who built the tool could not reproduce the failure at all: not on those links, not at that time, not once.
That gap tells you more than any single fix does. A failure the tool’s own author cannot reproduce is not a bad link. It is something happening between Instagram and the request. Retrying the identical link isn’t superstition — it is the highest-percentage move you have.
The same split shows up in what keeps working. During one widespread outage, fetching a whole profile stopped while downloading a single post directly kept succeeding. If a tool that grabs entire profiles or feeds has gone quiet, try the direct link to the one video you want. It is a different request, and the two have failed independently of each other.
