Vidlune requests the best compatible public source that Instagram exposes. It does not upscale a lower-resolution upload, invent a missing audio track or remove a watermark already embedded by the creator. A successful request returns a normal MP4 attachment to your browser.
Check Instagram first
Try the native Download control
Some public Reels show a Download action inside Instagram’s sharing controls. The option depends on the Reel and the creator’s download settings. The native file may include Instagram branding, and a Reel using licensed music may download without audio.
If the Reel exposes a separate Download action after opening Remix, treat it as a different native path from the regular Share menu. Check the saved file instead of assuming the two paths produce the same audio or branding.
If neither control appears, do not treat the missing button as permission to bypass a private or restricted post. Use the browser workflow below only for a public link you are allowed to save.
Browser workflow
Use Vidlune for a public link
Open the individual post on your computer, copy its link and paste the complete instagram.com URL into Vidlune. Start the download and save the returned MP4 through your browser’s normal download flow.
Use one public link at a time. Do not enter an Instagram password, session cookie or access token into a downloader page. If you only use Instagram’s Save button, the post remains inside Instagram; it does not create a local file.
When the file is unavailable
Check the link before blaming your PC
Private, deleted, login-gated and region-restricted media cannot be made public by this tool. Stories, Highlights, photos, image-only carousels, profile pages and Explore pages are also outside its current scope. Use a direct public /reel/…, /p/… or /tv/… video URL.
Instagram may temporarily rate-limit a public link. A failed request does not consume the daily allowance, so retrying later is safer than submitting credentials. Each job can run for up to 120 seconds and the completed file must remain under 200 MB.
Before you reuse the file
A downloaded file is not a licence
Save media you own, have permission to download or are otherwise legally allowed to use. Public visibility does not transfer copyright or grant permission to republish, sell, remove attribution from or commercially exploit a video.
For the service’s exact boundaries, read the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
Bottom line
The short PC answer
Copy a public Instagram link, paste it into Vidlune, choose Download MP4 and check the saved file. If the post is private, unavailable or outside the supported video formats, no browser downloader can turn it into a legitimate public download.
